Psalm 94:19
"When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy."
Anxiety disrupts the equilibrium of the heart. Anxious thoughts multiply our fears and discontent. Dis-ease rules our thoughts and behaviors. The greater the anxiety the farther I am away from the peace God promises.
When I take delight in the Lord, God grants me the desire of my heart - more of the Lord. When I am deepening my delight in him I receive all the consolation I need and have great joy. The joy is not because of the circumstance that may be contributing to the anxiety but because I know that the Lord is with me.
Lord, there are many anxious moments in my life. Help me to remember you are near and receive the consolation that you promise. You are all I need. You are enough. Thank you.
